- What happens if I cancel after placing an order?
- You will only be charged for text that has already been translated. We will provide you with the partial translation if desired.
- Will my information be kept confidential?
- All information will be kept confidential. Please indicate if you would like to enter into a non-disclosure agreement with Fidelitas.
- Can I make requests about style?
- If you would like certain terms to be rendered in a particular way, please indicate accordingly when placing your order so we can discuss what steps can be taken to accommodate your requirements.
- What style guides do you use?
- Style and terminology will generally follow the MoJ Japanese Law Translation database and the Manual of Style for Contract Drafting by Kenneth Adams unless context requires otherwise. Style/terminology choices may be explained using a translator’s note.
- Part of the document does not appear to have been translated. Was something left out?
- While the translator will aim to reflect the meaning of every word, there will not necessarily be word-for-word correspondence between the original and the translation, especially if your document is not legal or technical in nature. All translations are checked thoroughly before submission and the translator will review any questions or comments received. In the unlikely event that a misinterpretation is identified, a revised translation will be issued.
- Can I have my translation edited for length or otherwise restructured?
- While these types of editing services are not usually performed by the translator, we are happy to discuss your requirements and refer you to an editor if necessary.
